Being their sister, I request all my brothers that Nikaah is a pure bond and a Sunnat of Hazrat Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم). Do not consider it merely a worldly commodity and exhibition and and an acquisition of beauty and wealth.
Respected Readers! Especially those mothers and sisters (whose sons have great jobs), today this humble person is here to ask a small question from you: are you looking for a daughter in law for real or just a well decorated show piece? The one whose height is so tall that she begins to think high of herself even more than you, whose dyed hair make her walk the face of the earth with pride, or whose eyes are so beautiful that your son gets so lost in them he forgets his mother? This truth will pinch every sister and mother but the truth is always sour! I myself am going through this situation that when the boys sister and mother come and see, you feel no less than passing through an X ray machine. Just imagine, doesn’t this girl have any self-respect who is looked down upon by you in a way that if she isn’t beautiful she has commited some sin! Is beauty a guarantee of a woman being a dutiful wife and obedient daughter in law? My experience says that mostly girls with average features turn out to be obedient wives and daughters in law; they have made the whole family’s life a paradise and their children pious. On contrary, the rich, fashionable, beautiful ones are mostly found dolling themselves up, staying at their own homes after getting angry at something, or seen spreading nothing but bad around them. I am surrounded by many such stories which if I begin to mention, a lot of time and pages will be dedicated to them. If you are being disillusioned by my words or being skeptical about this, then let’s go ahead and like every other religious and worldly matter have a look at this matter (apparently trivial but actually so important) in the light of Qur’an and Hadith. Hazrat Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: do not marry women on the basis of their beauty, it’s possible that their beauty can incur destruction upon them, do not marry women on the basis of their wealth, because this wealth can make them rebels and defiant. Marry women only on the basis of their piety and righteousness. If a righteous woman has her nose and ears cut off, even then she is superior and better than the others. (Reference: Islamic Fiqh)
Nabi SAW has called a pious wife a treasure for her husband. Hazrat Ibn e Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما narrates that Hazrat Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: do you not want me to tell you what the biggest asset of a man is? Pious and righteous wife, the one whose sight brings happiness to her husband, if the husband goes somewhere, she takes care of his possessions and dignity, and if her husband asks her to do something she does not delay and does as she is told. (Reference Islamic Fiqh) Humans have been given the title of Ashraful Makhlookaat (Best of Creations) because of his intelligence and insight. If he wants he can use this to beautify his world and the hereafter. “There is no wealth more valuable than intelligence” (Hadith e Nabwi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم). ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی says in the Qur’an: “only those will take lessons from these who are intelligent.” (Surah Baqarah). Often mothers and even men themselves, leave a proposal because one or the other of a trivial fault in the girl. So this is a request to them that please focus on the girl’s piety and obedience rather than her face and social status. Instead of giving her the grief of being rejected, make her the honor of your family and then see how your life becomes a beautiful garden and your house a paradise on earth! (Because this is also my experience)

Read the above mentioned Ahadith carefully and then put them to practice and earn happiness, peace and success both in this world and the hereafter. Dear readers! There are some good deeds that even the good people find hard to do and the good ones think that I cannot do this, never mind. Someone else will do it. The beginning of good is always difficult but it ends with peace and relaxation. If a good brother of mine begins this good deed and tries to search for a pious, not so well off, jolly but average looking girl, then people will point fingers at him for this mentality. But will the same people pointing today stand by you when things go wrong tomorrow? When a woman ignorant of her religion, fashionable and proud, will not be able to do your children’s upbringing according to Islamic principles? When she not only makes your life miserable but also, instead of making your children a source of forgiveness on the day of judgement makes them a source of tension and shame? Hadith e Nabwi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم states: “the best amongst you is the one who is best to his wife” ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی has clearly stated in the Qur’an certains Ayaats for those who reflect upon and understand His meaning. One of the lessons teaching Ayat amongst these is mentioned below, which can embellish the lives of my brothers if they apply it practically in their lives. If they submit to the will of ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی and accept whatever ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی has written in their destiny for them, and if their wife is not that beautiful or has some faults, he considers it ALLAH’s سبحانہ تعالی raza and happiness and consider it a source of forgiveness for himself in the hereafter. The Ayat says: “it is possible that you don’t like something and that is better for you and it is possible that you like something and it is not good for you, Verily ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی knows and you do not know”
Always remember! When ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی is pleased with you, then a Mumin’s needs are nothing except what ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی wants from him. And ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی is pleased with you when you do complete justice to His people’s rights. Fulfill every relationships right by considering it a Farz (necessity) and make a routine of doing so. Life will become much easier and peaceful. Keep ALLAH سبحانہ تعالی happy with your prayers and keep people happy with your good morals and stay happy yourself too!
